Can you offer bespoke finishes?

While our collection is offered in a curated palette, we can also develop bespoke finishes to suit specific project requirements. This may include specialist veneers, custom colour matching, or the integration of materials such as metal, glass or stone, depending on the design.

Are all finishes available on collection pieces?

Collection pieces are offered in a curated palette of oil finishes to ensure consistency and lead time reliability. Bespoke commissions allow for greater flexibility in materials and finishing.

How do I care for oiled timber?

Yes — we regularly work with designer-specified materials, including wallcoverings, leathers and hardware, integrating them into cabinetry and furniture where appropriate.

Can I supply my own material?

Yes — we regularly work with designer-specified materials, including wallcoverings, leathers and hardware, integrating them into cabinetry and furniture where appropriate.

What metal finishes do you offer?

Our furniture incorporates a curated palette of brass finishes — including aged, natural and darker bronze tones — selected to complement timber. Selected stocked hardware is also available in finishes such as satin nickel and polished chrome.

Can you match an existing timber finish?

We can develop timber finishes to sit alongside existing schemes, typically working with our oil finishes to achieve the most natural and consistent result. Sampling is usually required, and subtle variation is to be expected when working with natural materials.

Will the timber colour change over time?

Timber may mellow and develop character with age. The extent of this varies depending on the species, finish and light exposure, with some pieces changing more than others.

What’s the difference between oil and lacquer?

Oil finishes are natural, tactile and repairable, allowing timber to age beautifully over time. Lacquered finishes create a more sealed surface and offer increased resistance to moisture, though they can be more difficult to repair if damaged. Different sheen levels can also be specified depending on the project. We tend to favour oil finishes where possible, as they retain the character and honesty of the material.

Will samples match exactly?

Samples are representative. As we work with natural materials, variation in tone and grain is part of the character of the finished piece.

Can I order finish samples?

Yes — timber, metal and material samples are available to support specification and project development.

Can I customise a collection piece?

Often yes — we can advise whether a project would be best approached as a refined collection piece or developed as a bespoke commission, depending on the level of customisation required.

Do you work with interior designers?

Yes — most of our projects involve collaboration with interior designers and architects, working closely to ensure each piece is considered, well-proportioned and appropriate to the space.

How do I choose the right finish?

We’re happy to guide you. Timber tone, metal detailing and material accents are considered together to suit the wider interior scheme, ensuring the piece sits naturally within the space. We can also provide samples to help refine the final selection.
